Verse Five Publishing

Verse Five came about as I weighed the pros and cons of approaching traditional publishers with my first novel, The Seventh Age, but to make the book available as quickly as possible, self-publishing seemed the only sure bet. My experience convinced me I could run a small publishing company, and perhaps, over time, grow it into a viable company with something truly valuable to offer.

The Mission

Verse Five is not here just to make a buck, or even merely to entertain. Whatever Verse Five offers should enrich the lives of those it touches. Whether through entertainment people can feel good about, or by helping them improve their lives and work, or by pointing them to wisdom that elevates their focus, I hope Verse Five will accomplish its mission of helping people ascend to a higher plane. While not intended as an exclusively Christian organization, at times my own mustard seed will certainly work its way into some of the things Verse Five will offer.

Plans

In addition to The Seventh Age and Moment of Inertia, Verse Five intends to soon make available other books that are currently underway, including adding ages prior to the sixth and seventh. A few non-fiction books are simmering as well, including resources for Christians, for artists and designers, and others.

Dreams

My background in the arts and teaching makes it hard for me to want to stop with books. Verse Five may one day produce more than books, perhaps venturing into offering artwork or coordinating creative folks to make wonderful things—but it’s too soon to tell. I would be thrilled to work with other authors and artists who share the Verse Five mission of making top-notch things that make a difference.
